I am helping with a small wedding that will use cool evening tones. There will be friends who do not all feel good in the same shades. Nobody wants a strict matching rule that looks uncomfortable in photos. I suggested a family of smoky blue, muted berry, soft charcoal, and silver accents. I have been reading about soft winter color palette while keeping in mind that personal preference still matters.
